Land-Use Planning
The Counties administers various land-use planning functions through its Planning Department. These services include providing general planning advice to the United Counties Council, decisions on consent (land severance) applications, approval of draft plans of subdivision, long range planning services ie Official Plan), conducting planning studies, advice to lower-tier councils and staff at their request, and representing the Counties on various inter-agency committees.
The Planning Department is also responsible for the development of its geographic information system (GIS).
