Youth Indoor Soccer at Morrisburg Public School

Indoor soccer is a new program offered by South Dundas Soccer at no cost to players. The program is designed to help young soccer players develop ball control and decision-making skills and improves reaction time.
Indoor soccer uses a heavier ball than traditional outdoor soccer so it helps develop power in players' kicking ability. Playing in an indoor space 5v5 also allows players to be creative in getting around opposition and improves confidence in players in 1v1 challenges.

The SDSA/SDU indoor soccer program will run Wednesday nights at Morrisburg Public School (16 Second Street, Morrisburg, ON). (Excluding Christmas holidays)

February 8, 15, 22
March 1, 8

Two nightly sessions (70 minute) are offered:
8 to 12 year old girls – 6:15 p.m. to 7:25 p.m.
8 to 12 year old co-ed – 7:35 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Up to 30 players per session are allowed each week. There are no teams. The first 40ish minutes of each session will focus on skills development with our co-ed youth coaches. Those attending will then break into two or four teams and put the skills to use in a friendly match.

Registration is at the door. Players under 10 must have a parent or guardian remain at the school during the playing time. Players who have played in a 2022 soccer program with the SDSA will only have to be signed in. New players to the program will have to register (no cost).

Players require clean indoor running shoes and shin guards.

Appropriate clothing to wear are shorts or athletic pants that allow the full range of movement. Workout wear like leggings etc. is not recommended due to the possibility of tripping or floor contact.

Please note, evening programs will be cancelled by the school board if school buses are cancelled. Due to ongoing education labour issues, individual program nights will be cancelled in the event of a labour disruption.
